A Room With a View

Driving to visit some friends on Sunday I was hitting the preset buttons on my car radio when a familiar song popped on.  It wasn’t a song that I’ve listened to often.  It wasn’t a song I have on CD.  It wasn’t by a favorite artist.  Still, I knew it well.

But there was a problem.  The words she was singing weren’t the words that I knew to the tune.  How do I know this song? 

Old Navy.

Aaaagghhh!

But I had to laugh.

The number of times I plan on going again:  0

How much I enjoy Old Navy commercials:  A lot

Fact:  I love commercials.  Sometimes I think they’re better than the actual shows I’m supposed to be watching.

A favorite commercial “series” is the Sonic commercials with the two nerdy friends enjoying some treat from Sonic.  Some of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

Was I disappointed earlier this year when the original pair disappeared and a husband/wife pair emerged to hock wares.  How disappointing they are.  Instead of witty quips and inane oddity, it seems as though they merely bicker.  The latest, for the Jr. Banana Split, the wife just complains about the husband’s short attention span and how the JBS is perfect for him because he doesn’t have to stay on one flavor for very long.  Maybe this is funny to all of the married folk out there, but not to me.  I’m filing it under “Reasons NOT to Get Married.”

So it was a great relief to see the original pair back to also promote the JBS.  Nonesense that was actually funny.  Thank you for bringing them back!
