A Room With a View

I was in work today for some overtime.  My friend Liz had a meeting with associates at our office and others back in East.  Both sites are preparing for picnics after tax season.  During the conference call, someone at the other office said they should play the cornhole game.  If I had been in the meeting, I’m sure I would have had the same reaction as Liz (Aunt Niz).  What is the cornhole game?  Turns out, it’s a bean bag toss.  What came to Jason’s mind?  No comment.  Thanks to wikipedia, this picture:

A couple weeks ago I had brunch with some friends.  We had previously joked about what name we should give the hostess.  David decided that this Sunday he would use “Bitter, party of 3″.  The Hostess enjoyed it.

So, today I’m doing some processing and notice that a client’s last name is actually Bitter. I wonder if she uses that name when she goes out to restaurants. 

Background:

For a couple months I’ve been entertaining my team at work by telling puns that I’ve read off the Internet (or just being my witty self).  Then at the beginning of October I started with Halloween jokes from the Internet.  Then when everyone knew I was going to be a Dorothy for Halloween, I found Wizard of Oz jokes. 

Yesterday: 

At our Team Meeting at work our Team Leader Jennifer informed us that someone from a neighboring team logged a noise complaint against our team.  I guess we have too much fun.  They’re so jealous.  Jennifer said that we shouldn’t stop having fun becaus she’s interested in what Dorothy would say to Abraham Lincoln….

…and that got me thinking

“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!”

Happy Reformation Day!  (or as the rest of you know it, Happy Halloween)

Fact:  I love commercials.  Sometimes I think they’re better than the actual shows I’m supposed to be watching.

A favorite commercial “series” is the Sonic commercials with the two nerdy friends enjoying some treat from Sonic.  Some of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

Was I disappointed earlier this year when the original pair disappeared and a husband/wife pair emerged to hock wares.  How disappointing they are.  Instead of witty quips and inane oddity, it seems as though they merely bicker.  The latest, for the Jr. Banana Split, the wife just complains about the husband’s short attention span and how the JBS is perfect for him because he doesn’t have to stay on one flavor for very long.  Maybe this is funny to all of the married folk out there, but not to me.  I’m filing it under “Reasons NOT to Get Married.”

So it was a great relief to see the original pair back to also promote the JBS.  Nonesense that was actually funny.  Thank you for bringing them back!
