Smoky Apple Butter Ribs

I was in the checkout line at the grocery store and picked up a Betty Crocker recipe book for slow cookers.  I had one, but never used it.  I have bent down many pages to try; but I only make one recipe.  It’s always a hit:

Smoky Apple Butter Ribs

3 lbs pork ribs, country style
1 medium onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 cup apple butter
1 tablespoon liquid smoke
2 tablespoons brown sugar
salt and pepper

1) salt and pepper ribs; place in slow cooker.
2) slice onion, add to ribs
3) separately, mix together other ingredients; pour over ribs and onions
4) cook on low 8-10 hours
5) put ribs on plate; cover
6) pour juices through strainer into sauce pan; bring to boil; cook on medium for five minutes or until sauce thickens, serve with ribs.

Made these for our Super Bowl potluck at work.  Still waiting to hear if I won the prize.  My teammates liked them so much, I made more to bring in to work today.  Yum, yum, yum.
